The no26 G-Drive Racing Aurus 01-Gibson was the fastest car during the first 90-minute Free Practice session of the 4 Hours of Le Castellet weekend in the south of France, but only by the narrowest of margins. Nyck De Vries set a 1m42.981 lap of the 5.771 km Circuit Paul Ricard, just 16 thousandths of a second ahead of the no22 United Autosports Oreca of Phil Hanson and a further 0.179s ahead of the no32 United Autosports Oreca of Job Van Uitert.
The no25 G-Drive Racing Aurus was 4thfastest and the quickest of the seven Pro-Am entries after Roberto Mehri set a 1m43.366 lap, just four thousandths ahead of the no65 Panis Racing Oreca driven by James Allen.

The no20 Team Virage Ligier was the fastest of the 16 LMP3 entries, with Garett Grist setting a 1m49.060 lap time 0.238s ahead of the no8 Graff of David Droux.The no2 United Autosports Ligier was third quickest with a 1m49.396 lap set by Wayne Boyd, with the no4 DKR Engineering Duqueine 4thfastest, Laurents Hörr just 0.017s behind the no2 Ligier.
The no95 TF Sport Aston Martin beat the Ferraris and Porsches to the top spot on the time sheet at the end of the session, with Ross Gunn posting a 1m52.693 lap, the British driver 0.198s ahead of the no80 Iron Lynx Ferrari of Miguel Molina, with the no60 Iron Lynx Ferrari in 3rd, with Paolo Ruberti setting a 1m53.009.
Free Practice 2 for the 4 Hours of Le Castellet will start at 09h00 on Saturday 5 June.
