WRT Fastest ahead of 4 Hours of Monza Qualifying

The second 90-minute Free Practice session at Monza saw the no41 Orlen Team WRT Oreca set he fastest lap of the weekend so far with Louis Deletraz setting a 1m37.956 lap.  The championship leaders finished 0.395s ahead of the no26 G-Drive Racing Aurus and 0.519s ahead of the no24 Algarve Pro Racing Oreca.

Racing Team Turkey were once again in the top 5 after posting the fastest lap in FP1, with Logan Sargeant’s time of 1m38.494 putting the Turkish flagged team in 4thoverall and the top Pro-Am entry, nearly 1 second ahead of the no21 Dragonspeed USA Oreca.

The no20 Team Virage Ligier of Garett Grist was the fastest of the 14 LMP3 entries, the grid down by one after the withdrawal of the no11 Eurointernational Ligier following an accident on day 1 that saw the car damaged beyond repair.

Grist’s time of 1m44.184 was 0.5 seconds slower than the best set in FP1 but was 0.186s ahead of the no2 United Autosports Ligier of Wayne Boyd, with the no3 United Autosports Ligier of Duncan Tappy third fastest, 0.5 seconds behind his teammate.

The no88 AF Corse Ferrari took the top spot in LMGTE for the second time, with Italian Alessio Rovera improving his best time by six tenths with a 1m46.847 lap.The no80 Iron Lynx Ferrari was second fastest with a 1m46.971 and the no55 Spirit of Race Ferrari 0.096 further back in third.
