With the Red Bull Ring circuit declared wet by Race Control for the second 90-minute free practice session of the weekend, the 41 cars headed out on track. The no24 Algarve Pro Racing Oreca-Gibson set the fastest lap time of the 4 Hours of Red Bull Ring weekend so far, with Ferdinand Habsburg posting a 1m21.741, 0.310s faster than the best time set in FP1 by Phil Hanson in the no22 United Autosports Oreca.
The lap time 0.055s ahead of the second placed car in FP2, the no25 G-Drive Racing Aurus 01-Gibson of Roberto Mehri, which is also run by the Algarve Pro Racing team and was the top Pro-Am entry. The no22 United Autosports Oreca was third fastest with a 1m22.028 with the no21 Dragonspeed USA Oreca in 4thjust 0.104s behind the no22 Oreca.

The no20 Team Virage Ligier-Nissan was the fastest LMP3 entry, with Garett Grist setting a 1m26.231, which was seven tenths slower than the best time set in FP1 and just 0.001s faster than the second fastest FP2 time set by the no3 United Autosports Ligier of Duncan Tappy.
The no11 Eurointernational Ligier was third fastest, three tenths behind the leading pair and 0.1 seconds ahead of the no7 Nielsen Racing Ligier.The no4 DKR Engineering Duqueine was the quickest non Ligier in 5th, 0.5s behind the lead cars.
For the second time the no88 AF Corse Ferrari 488 GTE was the fastest of the nine LMGTE cars, with Alessio Rovera posting a 1m27.510, a full second faster than his FP1 time.Iron Lynx were once again second and third fastest, with the no80 488 of Miguel Molina setting a 1m27.631, 0.121s behind Rovera’s Ferrari and just 0.004s ahead of the no83 Ferrari of Michelle Gatting.
Qualifying for the 4 Hours of Red Bull Ring will begin at 14h50 with LMGTE in the first 10-minute session, followed by LMP3 and then concluding with LMP2.
