Reigning LMP2 Pro/Am Champion Francois Perrodo was hoping to travel to Portimao having already secured the 2024 title, but a trip into the gravel for two laps in the no83 AF Corse Oreca-Gibson in Mugello cost the team some vital points.
Francois Perrodo and teammates Alessio Rovera and Matthieu Vaxiviere saw their championship lead shrink from 20 points to just 2 points after their nearest rivals finished 1st and 2nd in Italy.
So, it is all to play for in Portimao on Sunday with the top three teams, AF Corse, Richard Mille by TDS and Algarve Pro Racing split by just 8 points, with 26 points still to be won.
