SMP Racing Hold Upperhand After Two Hours of Racing

At the half way point of the 4 Hours of Le Castellet it is the no27 SMP Racing Dallara of Egor Orudzhev holding a 32 second lead over the no22 G Drive Racing Oreca of Nicolas Minassian and nearly a minute ahead of the pole sitting no21 Dragonspeed Oreca of Ben Hanley.

In LMP3 the no2 United Autosports Ligier of Sean Rayhall made superb progress up the order to take the lead, with the American currently 20 seconds ahead of Yan Ehrlacher in the no19 M Racing – YMR Norma, with the no11 Eurointernational Ligier of Giorgio Mondini in third place.

The pole position holders in the no55 Spirit of Race Ferrari are in the lead, with Duncan Cameron holding a 7 second lead over the no51 Spirit of Race Ferrari or Gianluca Roda with the no77 Proton Competition Porsche, which had led the race early on, now in third with Joel Camathias at the wheel.

  • no32 United Autosport Ligier (Hugo de Sadeleer) tapped into a spin by the no47 Cetilar Vilorba Corsa Dallara (Andrea Belicchi) at the Chicane on the opening lap. Belicchi given a drive through penalty for causing the incident.
  • No 77 Proton Competition Porsche (Christian Ried) takes lead of LMGTE at start but on lap 3 Arron Scott in the no55 Spirit of Race Ferrari regains lead.
  • No99 Beechdean AMR Aston Martin (Ross Gunn) up to third in class from the back of the grid and passes Christian Ried in the no77 Proton Competition Porsche for 2nd.
  • Alex Kapadia in the no15 RLR M Sport Ligier takes lead in LMP3.
  • No18 M.Racing YMR given drive through penalty for jumping the start.
  • No21 Dragonspeed Oreca (Ben Hanley) holding lead of race from Leo Roussel in the no22 G Drive Racing Oreca in first stint.
  • Full Course Yellow at end of first hour to recover stricken no9 AT Racing Ligier.
  • No27 SMP Racing Dallara (Matevos Isaakyan) takes lead after first pitstops.
  • No15 RLR M Sport Ligier (John Farano) hit by no10 Oregon Team Ligier.  Drive through penalty for no10.
