Rui Aguas : “Spa is a wonderful track”

Portugal’s Rui Aguas heads to Spa-Francorchamps to compete in the no51 AF Corse Ferrari with Italian drivers Marco Cioci and Piergiuseppe Perazzini. The highlight of the season so far has been a second place finish in Austria and the trio will be hoping for a return to the podium in Belgium this weekend.

Q: Do you think it is a good thing that the ELMS is racing at Spa for the first time in 5 years?

“Yes, I think it is a wonderful track, I just hope that the weather will be good. You never know what is going to happen and the weather conditions can make a big difference to the race.  But to go there is so nice.”

Q: You have raced at Spa with the WEC in the last few years, finishing on the podium in 2015 and 2016.  Do you think the Ferrari will be competitive at Spa in the ELMS also?

“The F458 has always been competitive there, so I hope we will get a good result, which, unfortunately we didn’t get at Paul Ricard.  It is going to be a tough race in Spa as the competition is very strong in ELMS this season.”
