Drivers’ reactions after the 4 Hours of Le Castellet

Thomas Laurent – N°39 Graff Oreca 07

“It was a good weekend. We improved a lot throughout the week to end in second position. Unfortunately, sanction is part of the game, we must accept it. We know our top speed and we proved it this weekend during the race. We have a consistent trio who did an amazing job at Le Castellet. The team worked very hard as well to get there. I cannot wait to be back at Spa! “

Phil Hanson – N°22 United Autosports Oreca 07

“Today was a hard day for my car with a puncture at the end of the race while leading with a small margin to second place, but to come away with third and a puncture is very lucky considering the circumstances. It was a strong result for the team nevertheless, and I’m happy for the sister car on their maiden victory.”

Nicolas Lapierre – N°37 Cool Racing Oreca 07

“A satisfying weekend with a great fourth place in the first race, and it’s especially pleasing when you consider the level of competition in this series. We were also first of the bronze entries, so this is good. The team had a very good strategy and we did great pit stops. Our race pace should be a bit quicker, but we know why. We played it safe with the car set-up and we know how to improve for the next race. Happy with the delayed start to the season, which was not easy as there was a long break. Delighted with this fourth place and we will try to continue from there.”

Jim McGuire – N°3 United Autosports Ligier JS P320

“My first ELMS race was pretty exciting, racing amongst the LMP2s. It was a lot quicker paced than I’m used to. We had good pace throughout the race and I felt like we had a pretty good result overall so I’m really pleased.”

James Dayson – N°15 RLR MSport Ligier JS P320

“It feels surreal! To achieve a podium at this level you need everything to work perfectly and for everyone to be on point, and RLR MSport did a fantastic job. The #15 Ligier JSP320 has been awesome all weekend, and having been really smart in testing, we came with a fantastic baseline setup that we knew would be strong on high fuel and old tyres. I was the only one to double-stint the tyres and the car was fantastic for the most part. I just focused on driving smart, not making any risky passes. I’m feeling very confident for the rest of the season.”
