Due to the Coronavirus pandemic, the 4 Hours of Barcelona had to be cancelled and round 3 of the 2020 ELMS was held at Le Castellet.
For the first time in ELMS history the same circuit was used twice in the same season. To differentiate this event from the opening round of the season, the title was changed to Le Castellet 240, 240 referring to the 240 minutes duration of the race, and it was also the only night race of the season.
