In 2020, Memo will defend his 2019 title alongside Ryan Cullen and Ben Hanley, both of whom finished on the ELMS podium last season.

Q: Memo, in 2020 you will be back with DragonSpeed, the team with whom you won your first ELMS title, how does it feel?

“It is a fantastic feeling; it is going back to a place that was previously my home. I know most of the guys, they are a great group of people and we achieved a lot of success together in 2017 by winning the championship. DragonSpeed lead by Elton Julian has been one of the top teams in ELMS the last four years and I am very happy to join them again to defend my ELMS title.”

Q: How well do you know your new teammates Ryan Cullen and Ben Hanley?

“I know Ben quite well from 2017 when we were teammates at DragonSpeed, but we were on different cars; he is a very fast driver and I’m glad we are sharing the car this year.

I’ve never worked directly with Ryan yet, but have seen him last year at United Autosports and I know he is a great driver, with a lot of talent and future. I believe all of us together make up a great group and I can’t wait to start working with them and the team.”

Q: What did you do this winter? How are you preparing for the coming season?

“A lot of work in the off season, trying to set up and organize the 2020 season; very busy with my sponsors, teams, contracts, etc. Also, the winter is always a good time to push on my fitness preparation and take it to the next level. I also managed to get some time away with my girlfriend and family.”

Q: What will be your main goal for the 2020 season?

“My main goal is to defend my ELMS Championship! I won the title with IDEC Sport with my great teammates Paul Lafargue and Paul-Loup Chatin and I will certainly miss working with them, but for sure I will try to do it again with DragonSpeed!”
