Molina took the chequered flag at his home track one lap ahead of the no77 Proton Competition Porsche of Jaxon Evans and the no55 Spirit of Race Ferrari of David Perel.
- 8 LMGTE cars took the start
- A slow start at the front of the field shook up the LMGTE field, with the no80 Iron Lynx Ferrari of Rino Mastronardi moving to the front of the field, with the no77 Porsche of Christian Ried dropping from 1st to third behind the no60 Iron Lynx Ferrari of Paolo Ruberti.
- This was followed by a 7-minute Safety Car period at the start of lap 2 to recover two LMP2 cars, the no32 United Autosports Oreca at T1 and the no21 DragonSpeed USA at T14.
- At the restart the no80 Ferrari was under pressure from his teammate in the no60 488, with Ruberti getting ahead in Lap 7 with a move on the run into T1.
- The no77 Porsche and the no83 Iron Lynx Ferrari of Manuela Gostner were fighting for third, with Gostner getting ahead on lap 12 to make it an Iron Lynx 1-2-3.
- At the front of the field the no60 and no80 Ferraris were split by just over two seconds, with Ruberti unable to fully break away from Mastronardi.
- After the first driver change the no60 Ferrari was now in the hands of Claudio Schiavoni, the Italian coming under pressure from Gianmaria Bruni in the no77 Porsche.
