FP2: Panis Racing Sets the Pace Ahead of Imola Qualifying

The no65 Panis Racing Oreca was the fastest of the 43 competitors ahead of qualifying for the 4 Hours of Imola, with Charles Milesi setting the fastest lap of the weekend so far, a 1m30.885 lap at the Autodromo Internazionale Enzo e Dino Ferrari.

Under blue skies and the thermometer already heading north of 30 degrees by mid-morning, the teams and drivers headed out on track to complete the final free practice session ahead of qualifying this afternoon.

Milesi’s time was over half a second of the best FP1 time and three tenths ahead of the second fastest car, the no47 COOL Racing Oreca after Fred Vesti posted a 1m31.248. The two Inter Europol Competition cars were third and fourth fastest with the no34 Oreca of Ollie Gray 0.103s ahead of the 4 Hours of Le Castellet winning no43 Oreca-Gibson of Tom Dillmann.

The no20 Algarve Pro Racing Oreca topped the LMP2 Pro/Am times again with Alex Quinn posting a slightly slower time of 1m32.243 than the FP1 best. The no29 Richard Mille by TDS was second fastest with a 1m32.315 set by Mathias Beche, with the DKR Engineering Oreca of Laurents Hörr third quickest with a 1m32.355.

After missing FP1 yesterday the no12 WTM by Rinaldi Racing Duqueine was the quickest of the ten LMP3 entries, with Oscar Tunjo posting a 1m39.541 lap, six tenths ahead of the no8 Team Virage Ligier with Gillian Henrion posting a 1m40.181. Adam Ali was third quickest in the no11 Eurointernational Ligier with a 1m40.299.

Kessel Racing once again topped the LMGT3 times, with Daniel Serra lapping in 1m42.588 in the no57 Ferrari 298, 0.095s ahead of the no60 Proton Competition 911 of Julien Andlauer. Ferrari were third and fourth quickest, with the no50 Formula Racing 296 of Nicklas Nielsen lapping in 1m42.767 and the no66 JMW Motorsport Ferrari of Phil Keen posting a 1m42.843.

Qualifying for the 4 Hours of Imola will begin with LMGT3 at 14h35.
