2025 Champion Charles Milesi took two wins in the 2025/26 Asian Le Mans Series opener. The French driver stood on the top step of the podium alongside his Cetilar Racing teammates Roberto Lacorte and 24 Hours of Le Mans winner Antonio Fuoco after winning the opening 4 Hours of Sepang on Saturday.

The trio then did the double in tricky track conditions when monsoon rains caused all of the teams to change strategy on several occasions during the second 4-hour race on Sunday.

After a good stint from Lacorte, Milesi and Fuoco managed to keep the no47 Oreca-Gibson at the head of the 16 strong LMP2 field, with the race being red flagged 20-minutes early during the treacherous conditions when a rainstorm hit the Sepang area.

This gave the Cetilar team a maximum 50-points from the two races and a healthy 14-point advantage over Algarve Pro Racing, the Portuguese team finishing second in both races.

The Algarve Pro Racing run Crowdstrike Racing by APR was third in both races, with American George Kurtz racing alongside four-time ELMS champion, and current LMP2 Pro/Am champion, Louis Deletraz and former ELMS LMP3 Champion and Peugeot factory driver Malthe Jakobsen.

It was also a good weekend for ELMS teams in the LMP3 category with reigning ELMS champions CLX Motorsport taking two podiums from pole position, including a win in race 2. Reigning LMP3 Driver's Champion Paul Lanchere took the two pole positions and, alongside his teammates Kevin Rabin and Alexander Jacoby, finished third in race 1 and took the win in race 2.

It was also a good end to the weekend for Inter Europol Competition. The Polish team failed to qualify for either race after an early trip into the gravel in qualifying. The team bounced back to win race 1 on Saturday and take 4th place on Sunday.

CLX Motorsport head to the next race in Dubai on 42 points, five ahead of Inter Europol Competition on 37 points.

ELMS front runners Kessel Racing also head to the next two races in Dubai as championship leaders in the GT category. The no74 Ferrari 296 GT3 finished 5th in the opening race of the weekend and won race two in a highly competitive 22 car field. Kessel Racing leave Sepang on 35 points, two points ahead of German team Getspeed on 33-points, the no9 Mercedes-AMG winning race one on Saturday and 12-points ahead of the third placed Origine Motorsport from China.

Round 2 of the 2025/26 Asian Le Mans Series will take place in the United Arab Emirates with two races in Dubai on Saturday 31st January and Sunday 1 February.
