EVENT PROGRAMME: Let The Games Begin

As an extra incentive there will be a very special trophy awarded to the overall winners this year, with the names of the previous champions engraved on the trophy from 2013 onwards.

The LMP2 title race is a four-way affair this year with AO by TF, Inter Europol Competition, Panis Racing and IDEC Sport all in the running to become ELMS LMP2 Champions. The top two teams are split by just six points and a win for either will mean they will be taking home the silverware at the Awards ceremony on Sunday night.

In the no14 AO by TF Oreca, two of the drivers already know what it is like to become European Champions, with Robert Kubica and Louis Deletraz taking the title in 2021 on their ELMS debut with Orlen Team WRT, with Deletraz taking his second title the following year with Prema Racing.

“Of course, it would mean a lot to win a third ELMS title in four years but to be honest I’d rather not think about it,” said Louis Deletraz when asked about the championship title race. “The level this year is high, so many great drivers and teams against us. We are working hard to prepare Portimao and be as strong as possible there. I can’t wait to race.”
