Championships classifications after two rounds

After two rounds into the 2020 European Le Mans Series, the battle rages in all the three classes. Let’s have a look to the classifications before heading to Le Castellet for the third race of the season.

LMP2: The domination of United Autosports

The Anglo-American team is currently dominating the championship standings with the n°22 Oreca 07 of Phil Hanson and Filipe Albuquerque on first place with 42 points. The n°32 of Alex Brundle, Job Van Uitert and Will Owen is second with 35 points.

The n°22 scored two pole positions in Le Castellet and Spa-Francorchamps followed by one victory in Belgium and a third place in Le Castellet. The n°32 won the opening round of the season, the 4 Hours of Le Castellet and scored a fifth-place finish in Spa-Francorchamps.

In third position is the n°39 Graff Oreca 07 driven by Thomas Laurent, Alexandre Cougnaud and James Allen thanks to a second place in Belgium at the beginning of month.

With only 24 points separating the first 5 cars, the battle is still on for the European glory!

LMP3: All in for United Autosports

With 52 points, the n°2 United Autosports Ligier JS P320 of Wayne Boyd, Tom Gamble and Rob Wheldon scored the maximum of points possible since the beginning of the season with two pole positions and two victories.

The reigning team champions Eurointernational is second with drivers Tommy Erdos and Niko Kari on 23 points. Their best result of the season so far was in Spa-Francorchamps with a third place.

One point behind, in third position, is the n°9 Graff Ligier JS P320 of Vincent Capillaire, Arnold and Maxime Robin with 22 points thanks to a fifth place in Le Castellet followed by a fourth position in Belgium.

Will someone be able to end the United Autosports’ domination in Le Castellet? We will know next Saturday evening at 22h30 (local time).

LMGTE: One victory each for Porsche and Ferrari

The LMGTE class is one of the most competitive this season. Porsche won the first round of the season with the n°77 Porsche 911 RSR Proton Competition of Christian Ried, Michele Beretta and Alessio Picariello. Ferrari, with the n°74 Kessel Racing 488 GTE Evo, won the second race in Belgium. Each manufacturer scored one pole position and one victory since the start of the season.

On top of the classification is the n°74 Kessel Racing Ferrari (David Perel, Michael Broniszewski) with 44 points, followed by the n°77 Proton Competition Porsche.

In third, with 25 points, is the n°93 Proton Competition 911 RSR of Richard Lietz, Felipe Laser and Michael Fassbender, thanks to a good performance in Belgium with a third place finish after starting from pole position.
