The battle for the LMGTE Driver and Team titles will go down to the final round in Portugal with three teams still in contention.

With 26 points on offer at the end of the 4 Hours of Portimão on Sunday 24 October, the no80 Iron Lynx Ferrari of Rino Mastronardi, Matteo Cressoni and Miguel Molina has the advantage over their nearest rivals.

After two victories and three further podium finishes, the crew of the no80 Ferrari have amassed 101 points, 20 ahead of the no88 AF Corse Ferrari of Alessio Rovera, Emmanuel Collard and François Perrodo, who travel to Portugal on the back of their second win of the season in Belgium last month.

The no55 Spirit of Race Ferrari of Matt Griffin, David Perel and Duncan Cameron are mathematically still in the hunt, with 4 Hours of Monza winners Perel and Cameron on 77 points, 24 behind the no80 Iron Lynx crew but only 4 points behind the no88 AF Corse Ferrari for the runners up spot and that coveted automatic invitation to next year’s 24 Hours of Le Mans.

To be assured of securing the title, Cressoni, Mastronardi and Molina need to take 7 points, so a 6th placed finish in the 4 Hours of Portimão will be enough for the crew of the no80 Iron Lynx Ferrari to take the 2021 ELMS LMGTE crowns.
