United Autosports Take LMP2 Victory at the 2025 Rolex 24 at Daytona

United Autosports USA are officially Rolex 24 at Daytona race winners, with a post-race ruling promoting the #22 Oreca 07 to the top step of the podium after a phenomenal 24-hour effort from Daniel Goldburg, Paul Di Resta, Rasmus Lindh, James Allen and the United Autosports crew.

It marks the team’s first victory in the legendary Daytona race - just seven months after winning the Le Mans 24 Hours for the second time (2020 & 2024) - and reinforces United Autosports’ reputation as one of the most successful LMP2 teams in the world.

“We came to Daytona with one very clear goal and we have achieved it,” says Richard Dean, United Autosports CEO. “To win the Rolex 24 at Daytona any year is pretty special, but to win it only a few months after celebrating victory at the Le Mans 24 Hours makes it an extra special moment. Zak and I would like to thank the entire team for their dedication and commitment. We can all be very proud of what we have achieved.”

The no8 Tower Motorsports Oreca had taken the chequered flag to win the LMP2 category on Sunday, but the car was found to have excessive wear on the skid block, which is a breach of the regulations, and was excluded from the final result of the race. This promoted the second placed no22 United Autosports USA Oreca to first in class.

For 2023 European Le Mans Series LMP2 Champion James Allen this marks his second Daytona race win (2023 & 2025) in addition to two Le Mans 24 Hour victories (2022 & 2023).

“It’s never the way you want to win … but it feels great to win the Rolex 24 at Daytona again!” says Allen. “I can’t thank my teammates enough - Daniel, Paul and Rasmus - as well as the whole team at United Autosports USA for both the opportunity and the hard work and dedication they put into this program. I’m so happy to have shared this victory with them and wish them success for the rest of the championship!”

Multiple ELMS Championship winning team United Autosports will be back in the European Le Mans Series this season with two entries, one in LMP2 and one in LMP2 Pro/Am, starting with the first race in Barcelona on Sunday 6th April. Tickets are available HERE.
