The stage is set for Roy Nissany’s European Le Mans Series debut. The Israeli driver is ready to start a new chapter of his motorsport career, as he will be racing in the 4 Hours of Barcelona, the championship’s opening round of the 2025 season. As he dives into the endurance racing world for the first time, Nissany will be competing as part of the Duqueine Team’s #30 entry in the LMP2 category. Roy will be sharing the car with young talents Reshad de Gerus and Francesco Simonazzi.
Round one of the year sees the championship take on the Circuit de Barcelona Catalunya. The historic Spanish track is one that Nissany knows exceptionally well, as he raced on it on many occasions throughout his single-seater career in competitive championships such as Formula 2.
Not only that, Roy made his Formula 1 weekend debut on this circuit, too, as he partook in the first free practice session of the 2020 Spanish Grand Prix with Williams; he then joined the team for another FP1 outing on the same track the following year.
Ahead of the first race weekend of the season, the #30 crew already hit the track in the series’ official tests earlier this week; the team seems to have found a good starting point, as they finished fourth in the final test session, while turning in a considerable number of laps throughout the two days.
Roy Nissany: “I am beyond excited for the start of my maiden European Le Mans Series campaign. We got a lot of positive feedback from this week’s test sessions, which were key to get acquainted with the car in an official setting. I am confident in our pace, and I can’t wait to get things started in such a competitive championship.”
