With three of the six races completed, the 2022 European Le Mans Series has reached halftime and it’s a good chance to look at the stats for the first half of the season.

PODIUM FINISHES

Seven different teams have finished in a podium position in the races held at Le Castellet, Imola and Monza. Prema Racing and Panis Racing are the only two teams to have finished twice in a podium scoring position, Prema Racing winning in Le Castellet and Imola and Panis Racing finishing 3rd in Le Castellet and 2nd in Monza.

IDEC Sport won in Monza to move them up to second place in the championship classifications.

United Autosports finished 2nd in Imola, while the no19 Algarve Pro Racing Oreca of Sophia Floersch and Bent Viscaal finished 2nd in Le Castellet, the highest podium finish for a double silver driver line up and also the highest podium finish for a female driver.

Cool Racing finished 3rd in Imola, while Muehlner Racing was classified 3rd last time out in Monza, the debut LMP2 podium finish for the Belgian team.

In the Pro/Am category, Racing Team Turkey have secured two wins in Le Castellet and Imola and finished second in Monza behind Nielsen Racing.

POLE POSITIONS

The three pole positions have been secured by two LMP2 Pro/Am teams, with Mathias Beche securing the extra point in Le Castellet and Monza for TDS Racing x Vaillante and Alessio Rovera putting the no88 AF Corse Oreca on the front of the grid in Imola.

FASTEST LAPS

The fastest race laps recorded in each of the three races have been set by the no9 Prema Racing Oreca.

  1. In Le Castellet the fastest lap was recorded by Louis Deletraz, the Swiss driver setting a 1m44.370 (199.1kph) on lap 102 of the race.
  2. During the 4 Hours of Imola the fastest lap was set by Lorenzo Colombo on lap 37 with a new lap record of 1m33.702 (188.6kph).
  3. Ferdinand Habsburg set the fastest lap at Monza, with a 1m39.531 (209.5kph) on lap 6 of the four-hour race.

RACE DISTANCES

Seventeen cars took part in each of the three 4-Hour races held so far this season.

Round 1: Le Castellet (5.773km)

  1. In Le Castellet the winning car completed 120 laps or 692.52km.
  2. The 17-car grid completed 2023 laps, or a total distance of 11,674.73km.

Round 2: Imola (4.909km)

  1. In Imola the winning car completed 127 laps or 623.44km.
  2. The 17-car grid completed 2095 laps or a total distance of 10,284.36km.

Round 3: Monza (5.793km)

  1. In Monza the winning car completed 121 laps or 700.95km.
  2. The 17-car grid completed 1821 laps or a total distance of 10,549.05km.

The total distance covered by all competitors during the first three races of the 2022 European Le Mans Series is 32,508.14km.

CHAMPIONSHIP POSITIONS

Prema Racing currently hold a 13-point advantage at the top of the table with 60 points, with IDEC Sport in second on 47 and Panis Racing in third on 45 points.

Racing Team Turkey are leading the Pro/Am category with 68 points, 16 ahead of Nielsen Racing (52 pts), with the no31 TDS Racing x Vaillante team on 44 points in 3rd.
