ELMS at Monza – Facts and Figures

The Autodromo Nazionale di Monza has hosted a round of the European Le Mans Series since 2017, and joins Imola as the second Italian race this season, which returned to the calendar in 2022.This season will mark the 6thrace held at the ‘Temple of Speed’.

Here are some facts and figures from the six races held at Monza since 2017

  1. The first race in 2017 was round 2 of the six-race season.The first edition of the 4 Hours of Monza was won by the no22 G-Drive Racing Oreca 07-Gibson of Memo Rojas, Leo Roussel and Ryo Hirakawa.
  2. In 2017 the LMGTE category was won by the no66 JMW Motorsport Ferrari 458 Italia, the final race for the 458 before the British team switched to the Ferrari 488 GTE at the next race in Austria.The car was driven to victory by Jody Fannin, Rob Smith and Johnny Cocker.
  3. In 2017 the LMP3 class was won by the no19 M.Racing-YMR Norma M30-Nissan of Ricky Capo and Erwin Creed.
  4. In 2021 Matt Griffin, Duncan Cameron and David Perel joined a very select group of drivers who have won the 4 Hours of Monza twice.Griffin and Cameron had previously won in 2019, while Perel won in 2021.
