Switzerland’s Fabio Scherer returns to the European Le Mans Series after a successful season in the FIA World Endurance Championship which saw the 24-year-old driver from Engelberg stand on the top step of the 24 Hours of Le Mans LMP2 podium and finish as 2023 FIA WEC LMP2 Vice Champion.
Scherer returns to the ELMS with United Autosports, a team he has raced and won with before, taking two wins in the 2021 FIA WEC with the Anglo-American team. He joins Bijoy Garg and Paul Di Resta in the no23 United Autosports Oreca 07-Gibson and they will compete against some of the world’s best endurance racers for overall honours in the LMP2 category.
We caught up with Fabio after Free Practice 1 on the opening day of the 4 Hours of Barcelona weekend.
