17 ELMS teams took part to the 2017 24 Hours of Le Mans and 15 took the chequered flag last Sunday including one in the first place of the LMGTE Am class.
JMW Motorsport not only won the 24 Hours of Le Mans in its class but went home also with an invitation for the 2018 edition that will take place on the 16th and 17th of June 2018.
5401 laps were covered by the ELMS cars, the equivalent of 73610 km. To do so many laps, the drivers had to stop 533 times in order to refuel, change the tyres or do some repairs after incidents on track. For example, United Autosports that is standing 5th of the overall classification stopped 36 times in their box and the Ferrari n°55 of Spirit of race that is second of the LMGTE AM class did 24 pitstops.
The quickest ELMS car was the n°47 Cetilar Villorba Corse Dallara that was caught at 337km/h in the speed trap.
We will meet again all the European Le Mans Series teams on the 23rd of July in Austria at the Red Bull Ring for the third round of the 2017 season.
