The two Inter Europol Competition Oreca-Gibsons topped the timing screens in the final Free Practice session in Barcelona. The session was interrupted by a short red flag when PJ Hyett went off the circuit at T14 in the no99 AO by TF Oreca. The car was lifted back onto the track and the session resumed with Hyett driving the car back to the pits.
At the chequered flag the no43 Inter Europol Oreca was the fastest of two entries by the Polish flagged team, with Tom Dillmann setting a 1m28.741, the fastest lap of the weekend so far and 0.293s ahead of Luca Ghiotto in the sister no34 Oreca.
The no37 CLX Pure Rxcing was third fastest with Tom Blomqvist posting a 1m29.395 lap of the 4.657km Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya, nearly three tenths ahead of the fourth fastest car, the no20 Algarve Pro Racing Oreca driven by Alex Quinn, which was also the fastest of the eight LMP2 Pro/Am entrants.
The second fastest LMP2 Pro/Am car was the no99 AO by TF Oreca which, despite the earlier trip into the gravel trap, ended the session in 14th overall with a 1m31.122 set by Louis Deletraz.
The no68 M Racing Ligier-Toyota of Quentin Antonel was the quickest of the LMP3 entries with a 1m38.446, 0.415s ahead of the no35 Ultimate Ligier of Matthieu Lahaye and a further 0.116s ahead of the third fastest car in the 90-minute session, the no17 CLX Motorsport Ligier, with Theodor Jensen posting a 1m38.977.
The DKR Engineering Ginetta G61 finished 5thin FP2 with Mikkel Pedersen setting a 1m39.972 lap.
It was a Ferrari 1-2-3 in LMGT3 with the no74 Kessel Racing Ferrari 296 LMT3 leading the way with a 1m41.350 set by Miguel Molina. The no50 Richard Mille AF Corse 296 finished the session second quickest just 0.065s behind the Kessel Ferrari after Lilou Wadoux set a 1m41.415.
The no51 AF Corse Ferrari of Davide Rigon was third fastest, 0.603s behind the lead car and 0.047s ahead of the no85 Iron Dames Porsche 911 after Michelle Gatting posted a 1m42.000 lap.
Qualifying for the 4 Hours of Barcelona is due to get underway at 15h05 starting with LMGT3.
