Earlier today (19 Feb) the Automobile Club de l’Ouest (ACO) unveiled the 62 entries for the 2024 24 Hours of Le Mans, the 92nd edition of the world’s most famous motor sport event.
The 23 strong Hypercar entry will see no less than nine different manufacturers and features ELMS champions both past and present, including Alex Lynn, Paul-Loup Chatin, Phil Hanson, Alessandro Pier Guidi, Miguel Molina, Nicklas Nielsen, Robert Kubica, Yifei Ye and Harry Tincknell, as well as several ELMS race winners amongst the 69 drivers who will be contending for overall honours.
The LMP2 class will see 16 entries including reigning champions Algarve Pro Racing (LMP2 Champions), AF Corse (LMP2 Pro/Am) and COOL Racing (LMP3) alongside 2023 LMP2 Vice Champions United Autosports USA. The rest of the LMP2 field is filled by the cream of the ELMS contenders, with all 16 entries going for glory on the 15/16 June.
The LMGT3 category will feature 23 entries, with all bar 5 cars being entered in the 2024 FIA World Endurance Championship. 2023 ELMS LMGTE Champions Proton Competition will be on the grid, with reigning driver’s champion Christian Ried at the wheel of a Ford Mustang. Former ELMS Champions JMW Motorsport also receive an entry, as do ELMS race winners Spirit of Race and ELMS front runners GR Racing, all competing with a Ferrari 296 GT3.
There are seven cars on the reserve list for the 2024 race. with Inter Europol Competition and Richard Mille by TDS waiting for a space on the LMP2 grid and Racing Spirit of Leman, Kessel Racing and Formula Racing on the LMGT3 reserve.
