ELMS at Le Mans

Twenty of the cars taking part to the 2021 European Le Mans Series will also take part to the 89th edition of the 24 Hours of Le Mans on the 21st and 22nd of August.

This represents the largest number of ELMS cars taking part in the French race, with eleven ELMS competitors entered in the LMP2 class and nine LMGTE Am cars.

In LMP2, some of the top ELMS teams will take part in the 24 Hours of Le Mans, such as United Autosports, Idec Sport, DragonSpeed, G-Drive Racing, Duqueine Team, Orlen Team WRT and Panis Racing.

Polish team Inter Europol Competition, who are competing in the ELMS LMP3 class, will also be in La Sarthe with the n°34 Oreca 07 that is entered in the FIA WEC.

Some drivers of the 2021 season will make their debut at Le Mans, such as the current championship leaders Robert Kubica and Yifei Ye, G-Drive Racing’s Franco Colapinto and Rui Andrade, United Autosports’ Wayne Boyd, Jonathan Aberdein and Manuel Maldonado.

Franco Colapinto, at the wheel of the n°26 G-Drive Racing will be the youngest driver in the 2021 24 Hours of Le Mans. He will drive alongside Roman Rusinov and Nyck De Vries, his ELMS teammates.

In LMGTE Am, Spirit of Race, Iron Lynx, JMW Motorsport, Proton Racing, AF Corse and TF Sport are amongst the full season ELMS entries at this year’s race.

Sarah Bovy, who is entered in the 2021 Michelin le Mans Cup will make her debut at the 24 Hours of Le Mans with Rahel Frey and Michelle Gatting at the wheel of the n°85 Iron Lynx Ferrari 488 GTE Evo. Jody Fanin, Jaxon Evans, John Hartshorne will also be part of the 2021 rookies.

On Sunday 15th August, the teams and drivers will have their first taste of the full 13.6km La Sarthe circuit with the Official Test Day before the start of the big week.
