Following Round 2 of the 2023 European Le Mans Series at Le Castellet the championship positions have been updated in the four categories.
After finishing 2ndin Le Castellet, the Duqueine Team is still leading the LMP2 championship.The 4 Hours of Barcelona winners Neel Jani, Nico Pino and Rene Binder head to Aragon on 43 points.4 Hours of Le Castellet winners Alex Lynn, James Allen and Kyffin Simpson move up from fifth to second in the no25 Algarve Pro Racing Oreca with 35 points.The no65 Panis Racing and the no47 COOL Racing Orecas are tied on 26 points, with Panis Racing being classified 3rddue to their second-place finish in Barcelona ahead of the two 4thplace finishes for COOL Racing.
Racing Team Turkey took a second overall podium at Le Castellet and maximum points in the LMP2 Pro/Am class.Salih Yoluc, Charlie Eastwood and Louis Deletraz head to Aragon with a maximum 52 points from the opening two rounds and are 19 points ahead of the no83 AF Corse and the no37 COOL Racing Orecas, both on 33 points. Francois Perrodo, Matthieu Vaxiviere and Ben Barnicoat are classified 3rdahead of Alexandre Coigny, Malthe Jakobsen and Nico Lapierre thanks to their 2ndplace finish in Round 1.
A third-place finish in Le Castellet has maintained the lead for round 1 winners Adrien Chila, Alejandro Garcia and Marcos Siebert in the no17 COOL Racing Ligier-Nissan on 41 points.However, the Swiss team has a slender 1-point advantage over the Le Castellet winning no31 Racing Spirit of Leman Ligier, with Antoine Doquin and Jacques Wolff on 40 points, while their teammate Jean-Ludovic Foubert is 4thin the Driver standings on 25 points having missed the race in Barcelona.
The no13 Inter Europol Competition Ligier is third in the championship standings on 26 points, 15 points behind the leaders after two races.
Iron Lynx moved from 4thin the standings after the 4 Hours of Barcelona into the lead of the LMGTE championship thanks to a second-place finish for Matteo Cairoli, Claudio Schiavoni and Matteo Cressoni putting them on 30 points.The no16 Proton Competition Porsche dropped back to 2ndin the standings after Alessio Picariello, Ryan Hardwick and Zac Robichon could only finish 9thin Le Castellet, and they head to Aragon on 27 points.
After leaving Spain on zero points, the no77 Proton Competition Porsche leapt up the championship standings to 3rdafter Christian Ried, Julien Andlauer and Giammarco Levorato claimed maximum points in France with victory from pole position and are just one point behind their teammates on 26 points.The no66 JMW Motorsport Ferrari is in 4thplace on 24 points.
