COOL Racing has been part of the ELMS since 2017 and the team’s Team Principal, and driver in the no37 Oreca-Gibson, Nicolas Lapierre, has tasted the winner’s champagne on many occasions over the years. A four-time LMP2 winner at the 24 Hours of Le Mans and double FIA World Endurance LMP2 Champion is just part of his impressive racing resume, but this season he has his sights set on the ELMS title that has so far eluded him.
As Team Principal, Nicolas Lapierre has steered the Swiss team’s development and this has resulted in some impressive results, including becoming the 2022 ELMS LMP3 Champions.
The season started well for Nico Lapierre the driver, as well as Nico Lapierre the Team Principal, securing a 4thoverall and 3rdin LMP2 Pro/Am in the no37 car alongside his co-drivers Alexandre Coigny and Malthe Jakobsen.The teams other LMP2 entry finished 4thin class and the no17 Ligier took the victory in LMP3.
