The first practice session for the 2013 Le Mans 24 Hours began at 16:00h. For the 56 cars entered in the race, it was the official start of race week.
Here's a quick rundown from free practice on the European Le Mans Series teams who make up one quarter of the grid.
Thiriet by TDS Racing set the second quickest time in the LMP2 class (10th overall), just 0.6 seconds ahead of its English rival, Jota Sport. The Signatech Alpine team was 8th in LMP2 in front of Greaves Motorsport, Morand Racing and Race Performance.
JMW Motorsport in LMGTE Pro completed ten laps in the session while in LMGTE Am IMSA Performance Matmut set the 5th quickest time in class. The No.77 Proton Porsche driven by Patrick Dempsey amongst others was 7th at the end of the session in front of the No.55 AF Corse Ferrari 458 Italia and the No.75 Prospeed Competition Porsche.
The first qualifying session will start at 22:00h for two hours of fast laps.
